RO INSPIRED // The So Brave Calendar: supporting women with cancer in a surprisingly colourful way

Cancer Calendar Body Painted Andrea Gasperak

The So Brave Breast Cancer Fundraiser Calendar for 2017 is about to drop. It's an amazing collection of stunning images of breast cancer survivors who were all diagnosed before they were 40. The net proceeds from the calendar are going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The NBCF is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia that raises money for the support, research and prevention of breast cancer.

But it's not just your average dolled up, pin-up, beauty shot kinda calendar! The awesome team have joined forces with internationally renowned body paint artist Wendy Fantasia who has created some incredible works of art on the ladies bodies. They've stripped down bare, with their unique and beautiful bodies decorated in complex and intricate designs in some of Australia's most infamous locations, like the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in Brisbane, and the graffiti lined alleys in Melbourne.

One of the models, Hanna Pickersgill, sat for 6 hours getting painted, before being photographed in the moment when the sun was setting and the Brisbane city was lighting up! She said that during the shoot passerby said to her, "nice outfit!" We can only imagine what an empowering and nerve wracking experience it must have been to bare it all to the world, but these women show strength that is second to none.

We are so excited to see the full calendar when it is released in July. Pre-order yours from the So Brave site now.
