Gone are the days of high waisted slacks and circle glasses kinds of librarians... The new generation of passionate, fun and super interesting librarians is being led by the awesome Megan Daley. Megan's mother in a "great teacher librarian" so she grew up surrounded by books and libraries, no wonder she followed in her footsteps into the industry.
By day she's a teacher-librarian at St. Aidans Anglican Girls School in Brisbane, and she's recently been awarded Qld Teacher Librarian of the Year by The School Library Association of Queensland. On top of that she's National VP of the Children's Book Council of Australia, a Queensland Literary Awards Judge, Ipswich District Teacher Librarian Network Book Week publication editor, monthly guest on 612ABC's Bookworms program.... Oh and also is a mum of two darling girls.
If it seems like she wouldn't have any more hours in the day, she is also so passionate about the childrens and YA book industry that she is the one woman power behind the awesome blog Childrens Books Daily. What a powerhouse!
Her blog is a treasured space for creating those all important memories and experiences for kids. It hosts information on how to fit reading into kids schedules (which are increasingly busy these days), guidance on choosing quality childrens books of all genres, reviews of books both new and old, and tips and activities to help to deal with challenges that sometimes arise with children learning to read.
It's an absolute goldmine of information, so if you've got kids learning to read be sure to hit it up!
Megan is also an avid Instagrammer and runs regular competitions on her Facebook page. She has even been known to give away a RO voucher here and there, so give her a follow to keep up with her!

I discovered RO via Megan’s blog and I’ve since bought all my teacher gifts from you, plus a few treats for myself! Every recipient loved their gift. I loved the super fast shipping and elegant packaging. So, thanks Megan and thanks RO x
