Our scarves are 100% modal, which is a silky-soft, sustainably-sourced fabric made from beechwood pulp. It's breathable, lightweight, and drapes beautifully. Think the feel of cashmere with the practicality of something you can actually wash.

Modal is one of the more wash-stable fabrics out there. We recommend a gentle cold cycle (or hand wash) with a mild detergent. Lay flat to dry and avoid the tumble dryer and direct heat. A little TLC goes a long way.

Yes, on a gentle/delicate cycle in cold water. Pop it in a lingerie bag for extra protection, skip the fabric softener (it can reduce the fabric's natural softness over time), and keep bleach far, far away. We recommend to air dry and not use a dryer.

Modal holds colour really well especially with proper care. We recommend washing brighter colours separately for the first few washes, just to be safe. Then you're all good.

Our scarves are generously sized at 65cm wide x 180cm long and can be worn as a traditional neck scarf, a lightweight wrap, a beach cover-up, or a hair accessory. Measurements are listed above. They're the kind of thing you'll find 25 uses for.

Compared to cotton, beechwood trees (the source of modal) require up to 20 times less water to grow. Modal is also biodegradable. Good karma, great drape.
