RO's World — Competitions

This past week, we combined forces with Creatively Squared and @erinsummer_ over on Instagram to bring you a BRIGHT challenge. We asked you to get light and joyful and bring us some creatively styled bright images. In return, we were giving you a chance to win 1 of 3 x $100 gift vouchers to use on the RO website just for spreading your creative wings! 

Some GORGEOUS entries came through, and it truly made us smile each and every day seeing everyone's fabulous posts. We thought we'd give a special shout out to some of our favourites.

Last week on Facebook we asked you for your funniest teacher stories and you surely delivered! We loved all the stories that were posted, but the top three most hilarious are being rewarded with a set of our Limited Edition Teacher Studs! We’d like to say a big THANKYOU to all the teachers out there, and everyone that left a comment on our competition post, we hope you got a laugh out of the stories that were shared, we sure did!

Here are our top picks, who made us laugh the hardest:

I'm an English as an additional language teacher. I had a student who was new to Australia arrive at my school. During a Science lesson we went for a walk and discussed all the different parts of plants; stem, leaf, flower etc. After the lesson I dropped him back to his class and you can imagine my horror as he farewelled me with "Thanks for the root!" - Sam Chrzczonowicz

I asked a student once if she was okay as she looked a bit tired. She replied “yeah I’m just tired. I woke up last night because my mom fell down the stairs and her clothes fell off and my dad ran down so fast to help her that his clothes fell off too.” I let her know that I was glad everyone was ok! - Maranda Fontana

I was in the bathroom, and a kindergarten girl came in, and sat down in her own stall. After she sat down she said, "<SIGH>! Finally a break from class!" Happened during the first week of school; apparently a very rigorous kinder classroom! - Lara Anderson Johnson

We are STOKED to announce that our BE THE DESIGNER COMPETITION is back for 2017, where we ask YOU to design YOUR dream necklace. It could even be put into production and become a reality. 

Ladies, it's time to fire up that creativity, sharpen those pencils and put your design skills to the test. Get dreaming, get thinking, but mostly have fun! 

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1: Download the template and start designing, you can choose any medium: pens, paints, even digital - the sky is the limit here 

STEP 2: Submit your design and it'll go to the vote (see downloadable template for submission options)

STEP 3: When submissions close you get to vote on your favourite designs

STEP 4: Celebrate the winner (it could be YOU)

We were SO impressed with the winning design, the Waterfall Necklace from Vicki Meehan (read more here) that we ended up designing the whole Cascade Collection around it. Vicki chose the incredible Freedom Hub for proceeds of the sale of the necklace to go towards, and has now opened our eyes to a truly wonderful organisation.
